GE Hotpoint Frigidaire Kenmore RCA timer M460-G operation theory:
The timer M460-G motor receives
120 or 220 volts (depend in model) and just advances all the way from where you set it to the off position.
You have 2 options in your dryer.
1-Select 60 or 50 or 40.... minutes,The timer M460-G or M460-GB will run for 60 or 50 or 40... minutes and shut off.
2-Select automatic cycle and The timer motor receives 120 or 220 volts (depend in model) of operating thermostat and advances all the way and shut off. Dryer Timer is no power
to the timer motor until the thermostat cycles the heat off and then that power is
directed to the timer motor. If your timer will not advance in timed and auto
dry...probably a bad timer or wire. If your timer will not advance in AUTO dryer but will advance in timed dryer...problem is normally not your just timer, You need check the wire connectors, fuses and thermostats.
